Indications
The injections of Bydureon BCise are recommended to adult patients who suffer from type 2 diabetes mellitus. The medication is not an independent treatment and is not a replacement of insulin. It should be used as a supplement to a special diet and exercise to control the level of sugar in the blood. It is not approved to use Bydureon for under-aged patients.
Limitations of Use
- Type 1 diabetes mellitus. As this medication is not a substitute for insulin, it can neither be a treatment for type 1 diabetes mellitus nor diabetic ketoacidosis. It will not be effective in these cases;
- Prandial insulin. The safety of combining Bydureon with prandial insulin has not been proven or tested;
- The medication should not be used in combination with other remedies that contain exenatide;
- Pancreatitis. The medication’s impact on patients with a history of pancreatitis has not been studied enough. Such patients should consider alternative methods to control the level of glucose in the blood.
Dosage and Administration
Recommended Dosing
The patient should use a Bydureon pen once in 7 days. The injection can be performed at any time of the day, irrespectively of the meal. A recommended dose is 2 mg. The day of injection can also be shifted if needed. It means you can take the injection before or after 7 days. The important rule is that at least 3 days should pass since the last injection.
Missed Dosage
If you have missed an injection, you can do it directly and then count 7 days for the next injection since the last time. If you have missed just 1-2 days, you can resume your regular schedule of Bydureon BCise injections.

Important Administration Instructions
Bydureon BCise is indicated for the patient self-administration. That is why a healthcare provider should provide the patient with detailed recommendations on how to administer the medication, proper mixing and injecting techniques to avoid any common side effects and severe body reactions.
- Anti-diabetes Bydureon medication can be presented in 2 forms: a single dose tray and a single dose pen. Each of the forms contains detailed instructions on how to administer the injectable solution inside the package. The patient should get acquainted with the instructions;
- Before starting to use Bydureon, the patient should inspect the visual look of the solution for injection. It should be clear, homogenous, from white to off-white or yellowish color. Any violations from this description and/or presence of foreign particles in the solution signal it may be dangerous to inject;
- Once the dosage is prepared, it should be administered into one of the injection sites: abdomen, upper arm, or thigh. The doctor should advise the patient to switch sites from time to time and do not inject the medication in the same place 2 times in a row;
- Do not administer Bydureon BCise and insulin as one injection. You can perform both injections on the same day and even in the same area, but these should be two separate injections and not in the same injection site;
- The patient must avoid intravenous or intramuscular injections with the Bydureon BCise.

I have never heard of this product before until I read the information on it on the web. I am having an appointment with my health care practitioner in a week and will ask for the details on “Bydureon Pen.” If the device is suitable in my case, I will give it a try and order it on your website (as I have already ordered other products from you successfully).
