Correction of moderate hypoglycemia can be carried out using intramuscular or subcutaneous administration of glucagon, followed by ingestion of carbohydrates. Severe hypoglycemic conditions accompanied by coma, seizures, or neurological disorders are relieved by intramuscular/subcutaneous administration of glucagon or by intravenous administration of concentrated dextrose (glucose) solution.
